When writing an essay you should remember the following:
* Write about the prompt. Read the prompt carefully and make sure that you understand what is required of you.
* Make your writing interesting to the reader. No one wants to read a boring story, so think carefully about what you want to write and present it in an interesting way.
* Make sure that each sentence you write helps the reader to understand your story. The sentences that you write will help connect your ideas so that it becomes interesting to read and easy to follow. If a sentence or a paragraph can be left out of your essay and the reader can still follow your story, then that sentence or paragraph should not have been there in the first place. Similarly, if the reader is having difficulty understanding your story, then it is possible that important sentences may have been left out.
* Make sure that your ideas are clear and easy for the reader to understand and follow.
* When you have finished, check over your work for correct spelling, capitalization, punctuation and grammar errors. Sometimes we think faster that we can write and so, in trying to write quickly, we make errors. If you check over your work when you have finished, you will be able to correct many of your errors on your own.
